I love television. I’m not ashamed of my love for TV. Our relationship is strong and ever-changing, each season brings with it the possibility of a deeper connection and an opportunity to expand my horizons. Okay, enough of that. There’s a few new shows I’m really into, and thank God we have a DVR now, because they conflict with my old reliables.

As I’m writing this, I’m watching Wednesday’s episode of Sons of Anarchy. It reminds me of the Sopranos, but with Irish dudes rather than Italians. I have to admit, half the reason I watch is the seriously attractive cast, namely the main character (played by Charlie Hunnam). The show has a good cast, on a good network, with possible storylines that can sustain the series for years to come. I’m happy to watch it develop.

The next one is on HBO. The Life and Times of Tim is an animated series with a lot of dry humor. I never watched Dr. Katz but I suspect they share some similarities, animation aside. I’m also watching Little Britain USA on HBO. I have to admit, I’m a little disappointed. I thought it’d be more of a departure from the original UK series, but little has changed other than the scenery.

Here’s a clip from The Life and Times of Tim:

The last one, my personal favorite, is True Blood. It has a unique premise, though it’s about vampires, it shares very little with other series such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The southern accents are a little annoying, but it’s set in Louisiana, so I can overlook it. It has a lot of sex, which I’m always fond of, and enough action to keep me entertained.

I’m still watching shows like Mad Men, Dexter, 30 Rock. I’m embarrassed to admit I watch Gossip Girl, but sometimes, you just need more melodramatic teenagers in your life. This post was completely pointless, but maybe you’ll be turned on to one of these shows and I’ll have created another TV junkie.
